Rechenka's Eggs (Russian vocabulary and Easter customs)- ties into caring for wild animals

FIAR with Another Celebrated Dancing Bear: talked about occupations and what the kids want to be when they grow up, discussed the freezing point of water and what happens to water when it freezes, and how it affects plants when it is colder than 32 degrees outside, did clock activity to learn to tell time on the hour and half hour
Read the Audubon Field Guide to Florida about sandhill cranes (one lives in our neighborhood)

Field Trip to Oakland Nature Preserve
Learned about the topography of Florida and Lake Apopka
Learned about native and non-native plants and their efforts to re-introduce native species
Enjoyed the climbing tree and trails
Got to pet a snake and see a snake and mouse interact

Watched Despicable Me (main character is from Russia)
Played world landmarks game after the film
